Melissa Hayes is the Senior Manager of Outreach at the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), a federally-funded metropolitan planning organization serving northern and central New Jersey. Prior to joining the NJTPA staff, Melissa worked as a journalist for more than 10 years. Most recently she covered Governor Chris Christie for The Record. Melissa is an avid baker in her spare time.

Melissa is pursuing a Master of Science in Professional and Technical Communication at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. This website was created for PTC 606-852: Advanced Information Design. She anticipates completing her degree in the summer of 2020. Melissa earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2004 from Douglass College at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. She completed a double-major in English and women's and gender studies, and a minor in art history.
